NWOL Awards

Northwest Overland likes to recognize members who go the extra mile to participate in and bolster our community, by selflessly donating their free time and effort. We couldn’t give away these great prizes without the generous donations of our Vendor Sponsors, as well.

Member of the Year:  Awarded to an individual who goes out of his or her way to help others, organize activities, and promote cooperation throughout the group.

Photographer of the Year:  Awarded to an individual who makes substantial photographic contributions to the website – photos that inspire us to get out there and see the world for ourselves.

Trip of the Year:  Awarded to the individual who organizes an outstanding trip.  More than just wheeling over the weekend, these trips embody overland travel.  Offroad adventure, scenic beauty, cultural/natural history, or something else that makes this trip inspiring to not only those who attended but makes those who didn’t go wish they had been there.

2014 Awards

Member of the Year – Dan Griffin

Dan has continuously organized the monthly Portland area meetups, coordinated many other events with other travel organizations, kept up consistent annual training trips with Bill Burke’s 4-Wheeling America, and has recently taken on a role as the Northwest area sales reps for one of our vendor sponsors – Tents on a Rack. Dan effortlessly shows his true Northwest Overland colors in every way. He is truly dedicated to promoting the positive impact that Northwest Overland has on the adventure travel community.

This trip was the quintessential Northwest Overland style trip – multiple participants exploring a new and notable area of the Pacific Northwest, with great memories and stories to tell about it. We were overwhelmed with the number of people who positively commented on this trip and how much fun it was. Congratulations Mike Block!
