    1. Last year I bypassed my ac compressor when the pulley went.

, Today I was backing out of the convenience store and heard a snap. The tensioner pulley had broken off. Wish I had my camera so I could have got a pic. Its getting fixed at a local garage. I was wondering if it broke because I had bypassed the AC compressor?

My initial answer would be “No”, but the two breaks might have been related in having the same cause. You appear to have a lot of corrosion/rust which might have first claimed the AC pulley before taking out the tensioner. If it’s already in the shop, I’d have them change all the pulleys and check for other areas where corrosion might be weakening load bearing parts.
