Decided to move on to a mellower pasture. My Power Wagon was starting to nickel and dime me to death with an electrical gremlin and I was getting tired of hanging out at the dealer. On my last trip I noticed a lonely looking new 2018 2500 CTD Laramie sitting all by itself on the dealers lot. It turns out this one was the last 2018 model year, old body style on the lot and with almost 20k slashed off the sticker. The numbers worked, I got an OK trade in value on the Power Wagon..even with a check engine light on and a slew of other glitches and now I get to start over. So far the only thing I really miss on the Power Wagon is the winch. I'm really impressed with the almost doubling of the fuel mileage and air conditioned seats for those long trail days. Now I guess I have to schedule my appointment to get that Cummins life tattoo.

Wait! It doesn't match the color of your truck! :) LOL!
Looks great, Benny!
Went all fancy and carpeted it.
Very tidy setup, Benny! Looks like a great use of that space too!
In preperation for my upcoming journey into Oregon, I decided to fab up a flat floor to mount my fridge and keep my solo camping gear inside. The stock "flat floor" panels leave a lot to be desired and barely hold the weight of the fridge. I thought about removing the seats but I want to keep it fairly easy to return to family hauler duties.
I utilized some 1/2" birch plywood that I had laying around. added some erector set shelving channel for tie down points. The platform measures 60" x 30" and is bolted down to the stock seat brackets. The front is held by a couple of turn buckles. I made it sit high enough so I can easily access the floor cubbyholes and store my two water containers.
Holds all my wolf pack boxes perfectly.
We loved ours... We had a 2012 and after selling out camper making the move to a simpler camp set up (Jeep JL) we no longer had a meaningful use for it. I did however look at many (like all of them) in bed campers.. Nice Truck!
Going to give the receiver mount winch option a try for a while. Picked up a smittybilt 12K X20. So far it seems like Smittybilt has come a long way in the quality field from the first XRC8 winch I bought back in 2009. The new winch is quieter and it's no load line speed is pretty quick. It looks and feels 10 times better build wise than that old XRC8 was. Claims to be IP68 rated and has a wireless remote. For a little over $500 for a 12k winch with synthetic line, I'm impressed. I am a little "meh" on the frame mounted receiver though, as it's only rated at 9000lbs so I see a lot of pulley work with this set up. I do like the fact I can move the winch to the rear, because usually when I was stuck in my heavy ass PowerWagon, I was always pulled backwards. Also now I can leave it home while parked at the park n' ride. Now just have to tension the rope and finish wiring up the rear power outlet.
Come a long way from the old Isuzu... :D
Nice. You'll love the torque, efficiency, and durability of the diesel. I'm sure you can find an ARB or other bumper to put a winch in :-)
