I thought it time to start build threads for our local community regarding our current two trucks: 2009 Lexus LX570 (Toyota Land Cruiser sister) and 2006 Chevrolet Silverado dually crew cab long bed. I'm a slow spender but always open to ideas and feedback.

As much as we enjoyed the cargo space and towing power of Sylvia, the time came to have more seat belts for our growing family. We could easily seat the family of five and take ghastly amounts of gear in the topper-covered 8' long bed, but any time extended family or friends visited us we would have to take two vehicles to transport six or more people.
After research on Consumer Reports, Car and Driver, Expedition Portal, Northwest Overland, and with friends, we hunted for a late model Toyota Sequoia or Land Cruiser. A high mileage Lexus LX570 (sister car of the Land Cruiser) came onto our radar and I pursued it along with two other Sequoias. Wife preferred the Sequoias with more cargo capacity, but I longed for a Land Cruiser / LX for the reliability, off-road capability, and cult-like owner community (read: support!). Although the LX570 had 109,500 miles on it when we bought it, we are more than pleased with the build quality, reliability, ride quality, and gadgets that are 'standard' on a luxury vehicle. Most importantly, wife loves it.
