I am starting a trip planning page for those planning or wanting to go on this day trip. Weather should be very warm!!! Bring LOTS of water or other hydration liquids. Bring trail snacks for all in your group. Vehicles should have good tires, extra fluids and a way to air down plus a way to air back up is not that big an issue as we will exit trails in Eburg close to the les schwab store! I am in the process of making arangments to have Wheel Line Cider open for us at the end of the day. She will hopefully be openning up specially for us, so it would be a nice thank you to her if we "suported" her business and took some of her product home with us! Any questions or sugestions welcome here and I will try to get them answered reguarding trip. I have NOT ran this trail, and as such am not sure exactly how long it should take, but hope to be finished sometime late afternoon. PLEASE try and be at the meet up point early so we get off to a good start.

Have the official road closure list. as of Noon today this is active.

As of 11 hours ago the fire is 26% contained. I think at this rate, and to respect our service members fighting the fire, we should stay clear. I wouldn't want to impede or complicate their efforts
Also there is a Town Hall on this fire in Naches tonight @6pm so we can hear little more about it. Yesterday it was 8% contained this morning was 15% hope of continued decent weather we wont have to worry.
Lets all check out alt routes and put our heads together sat morning in thorp. We can kindof adlib it as we go. I am more than willing to be flexable. (kinda hard to flex much with arthritis in my back!)
Hey Folks, won't know if I'm making this trip until later this week due to work (might have to host an open house in Yakima on Saturday) BUT ROADS 1701 and 1702 are CLOSED DUE to the LEFT HAND FIRE that we reported last Tuesday morning. More here- https://inciweb.nwcg.gov/incident/6456/
Just saw Hollis' post :)
A bypass could be along Manastash from Barber Springs down to Ellensburg Pass to Ellensburg

Another option could be depending on where 1701 is closed you could probably get to Cleman Mtn or Hog Ranch Rd. Why is EVERYTHING UNDERLINED?!?!
As of yesterday morning -
Closures: The Rock Creek Road (FSR 1702) and the Bald Mountain Road (FSR 1701) have been closed to allow firefighters unimpeded access to the fire area. The Washington Department of Fish and Wildlife has temporarily closed approximately 5,000 acres of the southwest portion of the Oak Creek Wildlife area. For details of the closure area please visit: www.inciweb.nwcg.gov/incident/6456.

I routed this earlier today. Check it out' OOPS, I made it public. sorry
I just checked the list of closed roads due to the "pipe line fire", and it looks like it really wont effect our trip at all!!! This apears to be good news, UNLESS there are more closures that I have not seen.
Nick, Can you send me your face book addy and I'll forward the info I have to you and maybe you can check against my route info here just to be sure. Paul, maybe you can too.
I talked to Marryanna at the cidery and decided to not do that on sat. Our trip will be too unpredictable time wise to tieher down. BUT,,,,,,, Anyone wanting to camp sat night here, the cidery will be open from noon to five on sunday. The tasting room will be open then.
@Mark and Vicki Lennox I see it now! What are the trail conditions we are looking to expect? I am really looking forward to this.

Mark, you have two options to share your track using Gaia.
1. Make the track Public -
From the track page, click on the link "private track" to toggle it to "public track". Then you can copy the url and share it with anyone, and they will be able to see the track page. But this also allows anyone on Gaia to search and find this track, your decision on how widely you are comfortable sharing.
2. Download and share GPX file -
Just above the map, on the left is "Data". Click it and select GPX. This will generate and download the GPX file, which any of us can import into Gaia. I don't see how we can attach files here in this forum so you may have to email it to all of us.
I can call you later this morning too,
Nick

Do any of those going use gaia? Maybe someone can help me figure how to share track here! 3603958759 is my cell. call and maybe you can help! LOL it's heck getting old and tech dummy!
I have the track on my online Gaia acct, but not sure how to publish it. I'm NOT confuser literate! LOL. I'll see what I can do. We leave from The thorp fruit stand and go south through the Menastash into the wenas and up to Eburg to exit on the menastash rd by Reinhart park.
I am good with trail only too. Just a heads up, 2000 acres are on fire in Wenas right now. (Heavy amounts of lighting)
I'm ok with just the trail and no cidery, it's nice to not be rushed. but also ok with the group decision.
