Hey all,
Gauging interest in a Fall trip to The Black Rock desert in NW Nevada. Ideally, we would make it a 5-6 day trip. Essentially, to be able to enjoy some of the sights the NW has to offer, my loose plan would be:
Day 1: Home to Bend, OR
Day 2: Bend, OR - Fields (Alvord Desert)
Day 3: Alvord Desert, OR - Black Rock Desert, NV
Day 4: Black Rock Desert, NV
Day 5: Black Rock Desert, NV - Bend, OR
Day 6: Bend, OR - Home.
Ideally, we would hit a few highlights along the way. Detailed itinerary TBD.
If you were to come along, what would you like to see and do during the journey?
Chime in!

I vote for late spring. Like early May. I would be able to plan a bit and set aside funds. October is too soon! :)
October, for sure. It's high desert and weather may postpone this trip if we wait too late. This is going to be a stretch for me, but yolo :-)
Here are some pictures from an earlier trip to BRD in 2015.

Do you have a rough idea when you're thinking? October, or closer to Thanksgiving? If we could make it work, it sounds like a lot of fun.
This might be a little ambitious for Fall, but if enough interest, I'd try to put it together.
If not, a fun Summer trip!

If the timing is right I could swing it. During the journey I suggest good food, cold beer, great company and places for the dogs to run free!
Don't have a clue about any POI along the way, but it looks and sounds like a fantastic trip.
