This is a great cool-weather adventure. Usually not much, if any, snow in the Douglas Creek area in November. Cool temps yes, but usually only light snow. We've had a couple of EPIC bonfires...
Registration is open.
This is a full-size friendly route, expect some brush scratches if we depart via the adventurous route... Family friendly, dog friendly event. Come on out and explore a bit of the dry side.
Vehicles need good all-terrain or mud tires and tow points front & rear.
Good chance at seeing some wildlife too.
Here's stock Toyota handling the climb just fine:
Yes, but the newer pickups are often quite low in the front, and you might get some body damage from the rocks on the climb out of the creek. Your traction control and the KO2's should do fine. I've seen the front "valance" or spoiler torn off a newish stock-height SUV on that climb.
Hi Guy,
I'd like your opinion: Stock height 4x4 F-150, open diffs (but it does have traction control), will have new tires (likely KO2s), front tow points and rear hitch tow point. Would you be comfortable having this rig along?
Signed up...assuming I don't break it before then. :D
Sure!
Factory hooks on the front of a Grand Cherokee (WJ) suffice for front tow points since they are not shackles?
