Looking for some salty overlanding veterans to recommend some early summer trails for a beginner overlander in WA.
I need to test out some gear, get a puppy used to a bumpy jeep ride and just generally explore some of this great state away from the throngs of Tesla driving Seattleites.
I suggest a subscription to GaiaGPS. Then you can have access to the Forest Service Roads and Trails Map, a Snow Level Map, and a Public Lands Map.
TrailsOffroad is another subscription service. They have some good info in there, but I allowed my subscription to expire.
onX Offroad is another one. I have a current subscription, but I find I don't use the app much at all. Planning to allow it to expire.
AllTrails is the last on my list. I have the subscription, but I use it mainly for hiking. They do post off-road trails, but their information is geared for hikers. Probably won't help you much, but it's worth a visit to the site.
Feel free to join us this weekend if you're free.
1st Rally is Cle Elum Safeway at 4:00 on Friday - Exploring the Colockum area near Vantage.
