Thanks for the update. We snagged a spot in the Redmond OR KOA...yeah yeah, one night of glamping, for Thurs the 15th so we can either pick up the convoy in Bend or meet up on the Alvord on Friday. Now looking forward to checking out the ghost town and the Rat runner garage.
Here is an update on this adventure. First off, the first day is going to Be a good ~10 hours of driving. For me, any way. I plan on leaving early on Friday morning and hammering all the way down to Alvord. Hoping to meet everyone there.
We will spend the night there and on Saturday AM, we will make our way to The Black Rock Desert in NW Nevada. We will spend two nights there.
We will then make our way to the SE corner of Pyramid Lake, there we will spend the night.
We will then make our way to Berlin, an old ghost town and up to Ichthyosaur Fossil Beds.
After that, we will head to Walker lake to camp at Twenty Mile Beach on the Western Shore of the lake.
The next Day, we will head to South Lake Tahoe and visit The Rat Runner's Garage. Made famous by Aaron Hagar, son of Sammy Hagar. Check out Aaron's website here: http://theratrunnersgarage.com/
Again, most of this is loose, but in order to maximize our tims in Nevada, I think it is essential we hammer down there quickly and enjoy the highlights.
In looking at pictures from previous years, this trip does not "appear" to have many if any technical trails. Could a full size, long-bed, crew cab make it? It might help me get on the ball with a lift for my big truck. For reference I'm thinking 37" tires and a 6-7" lift.
Switching the planning over to e-mail. Please look for a new email message from me.

I'll probably head out Thursday evening as well. Drive as far as I feel like.
Thanks for the update on the plans. Looking forward to this. 🍻
