Aight crew, I did it. I put money down on the White Rim Trail in Utah, just south west of Moab, at Island in the Sky, in Canyonlands NP.
The plan is to hit a lot of the things you can see on the asphalt on Monday, 9/10. Then drop down to the first campsite (Airport B) in the evening. Second day (9/11) is a long day of driving from Airport to Potato Bottom campsites. The 9/12 is rather short drive to Labyrinth, but I want to head out Taylor Canyon, and maybe even hike up Upheaval Canyon to the Syncline.
9/13 we punch out of Island in the Sky, drive from Moab to Hanksville, and into The Maze to stay at Cleopatra's Chair. 9/14 head out of the Maze and stop by Horseshoe Canyon to check out the Great Gallery petroglyphs after a 3mi hike in..
Anyway, putting this out there. It's a week's worth fun, and a two day trip to get out there. I have room for 2 more trucks on my ticket, if we want more, we will have to add it to the reservations.
The sucky thing is you can only register 4 months in advance. So if you're staying on White Rim 2 nights, that means you have to book those nights on separate days 4 months in advance. Luckily midnight there is a little earlier here. Competition is fierce though.
