Ladies (and men) what is your greatest fear being out on a trail? Some of the top fears I have are :
Lack of Skill & Knowledge
Embarrassing myself
Not Knowing Where To Go
Damage to my Vehicle
Rolling Over
How do you overcome these fears? Practice, tools, knowledge... But where do you find these resources?
Who would be interested in trainings on basics like: How to use a wench, what aps should I download on my phone, what kind of tools should I keep in my rig, what do I do if I roll over?
Comment below and lets see if we can help each other out and overcome those fears together.
I will put together a basic class. In fact, the sand recovery class and camp will be a great classroom for this. I will change the class title to be all inclusive of the basics in all the areas you listed, Theresa.
We will cover:
Vehicle Capabilities & Situational Awareness
Trail Responsibilities & Etiquette
Individual & Group Safety
Group Leadership & Participation Responsibilities
What Are Convoy Rules
Trail Ratings
Where To Go/When To Go
I'm Stuck, Now What
Recovery Planning
Recovery Equipment & Operation
This should be a fun class. Look for it in June.

The best way to learn is to do it. I think you’ll find people very willing to teach and be patient. I suspect that the people you would be holding back run in different circles and don’t post their outings here.
Join an outing!
Me! I was just talking to the guys at my Overland Garage.. just did a bunch of mods… gearing up for recovery and now I need skills and practice! Reluctant to join events because I am such a novice and dont want to hold people back. I can only learn so much watching YouTube videos 🙄.
