I was a member from around 2009 or so and had a 2007 Toyota FJ. My kids and I enjoyed the few outings we made like the Gallagher Head Lake overnighter. It was the beer meet and greet in Bellevue that was my last hoorah. I was dating a nurse at the time whom I brought along. She thought it would be comical to drink other members' expensive beer and flash the poor bartender for free drinks. That happened to be our last date and my last meet up with you all
as I was mortified about her behavior. The embarrassment has subsided enough that I’ll take anothet stab at being part of this group.
My kids and I missed the 4x4 exploring and camping. A 2015 Jeep Wrangler Unlimted Sport is now our new rig. It has ARB Air Lockers front and rear, after market bumbers, fender flares, and a Warn Zeon Platinum 12S winch. We are looking for a good off road trailer to tow behind so we can still fit our gear, kids, and Boxer pup. Any suggestions about which trailer would be appreciated. So far my wife and I have road tripped our Jeep to Canada, Mexico, and 26 states. We look forward to many more trips.
Thanks for following up Kyrin.
Okay Craig, I think I've sorted it. Lol.
NWOL doesn't actually have it's own RSS feed. What we have is a RSS feed pulling articles relating to overlanding from other sites and hosting them here. Hope this makes sense and clears up some of the confusion...
Hope everyone had a fun St. Patrick's Day!
Thanks Kyrin, unfortunately, that RSS feed doesn't have any posts from here. It appears to be for a different website. Getting closer though, that was at least a real RSS feed! :)
For those with MacOS/iOS Reeder is a really good RSS news reader. http://reederapp.com

Hi Cassidy! Glad you're enjoying the tech talk!
Hey Craig, here is the RSS feed link: http://filtr8.com/rss?5aa9ade24def2
I added it to the page with the feed summary too (:
Hey Cassidy... THANK YOU! Technically we should have pushed this to the Admin forum, but hey - now we’re all learning together!
Craig, thank you... you unveiled a little missing nugget. We didn’t place the “add this to your reader” link. Kyrin’s the brains behind the helm and is working on that.
Thanks folks for your awesome feedback as we work out the kinks! HAPPY FRIDAY
I’m learning too so convo away.
I don't see a link to an RSS feed at https://www.northwestoverland.com/the-magazine
Maybe someone can split this thread into a new one in the forum so Cassidy doesn't keep getting notifications about tech issues in his introduction thread?
Hey Craig, thanks for the feedback... you're right, it's like a never ending web of fun stuff to unwind. Love having fresh eyes and insight, I think we're all a little blurry on our end after eating, sleeping, and breathing this little project for the past three months. Were you able to view the RSS feed going through the Forum? It's a new feature so we're still working out the bugs.
Thanks for answering my questions. Sorry for hijacking your thread Cassidy!
Regarding the RSS feed info, unfortunately that direct link doesn't take me to an RSS feed, it takes me to a web page with a summary of posts. I'm unable to use it to subscribe in my RSS reader.
Just to confirm, there is no way to quote someone when replying?
I know the website is new, so a minor bit of feedback... the hover css style for links is set to white, so they go invisible on the white background (Try hovering your mouse over the link yu shared).
Hey Craig! So, there’s a couple of cool features that the Member profile supports. First, similar to Facebook, once you comment on a post, you get updates (I get them in my email) that a new comment has been made. I can also preview the first sentence or so, so if someone “tags” me, I can see it (as you did).
The thing I like most though is, if you go to your profile page and right by “About” you should see “Forum” and you can click on that... and see all of your posts and follow the conversation there so you don’t have to weed through other post (as things start to fill up in the forum). You can also follow members and you’ll get updates about - what they’re chatting about.
Regarding the RSS feed... I set up a direct link in one of the first forum categories. Basically just open up that forum and then click on the link. We’ll be updating direct links throughout the site over the next week as well; we’re just chasing our tails a bit, lol!
Here’s a direct link: https://www.northwestoverland.com/the-magazine
Thanks for the great questions and we love feedback and ideas! It’s all about making this “place” great!
@carriedavis How do I reply to a specific post? E.g. I want to reply to yours, but it seems I can't quote you to reply?
Anyway, I doubt Cassidy is interested, but as a geek, I am. Where's the RSS Feed?
Welcome back! Hey, sounds like a great campfire story to me... glad you made your way back. Check out the new RSS feed, there’s some pretty cool stuff feeding in for families!
Welcome back !That's quite a story
Trailers are tricky as there are options for every intended use, from a box on wheels to a full blown backcountry glamping rig. Best bet would be to make a list of what you need / want the trailer to be able to do, where you want to be able to take it, and how much you want to spend, and then narrow down your options from there.
Welcome Back Cassidy.
Very cool! Glad you're back.
I'm very happy with my Jackwagon Basecamp trailer. It's got an aluminum box, 6' long. Locking lid and doors. Provisions for hauling a good sized roof top tent. Mine has electric trailer brakes. Comes with the Timbren suspension, so there's no axle, and a lot of ground clearance. Can be ordered with the same wheels/bolt pattern as your Jeep. My Wrangler pulls it pretty effortlessly.

Welcome back!!
Hey Cassidy! Glad you're back. GHL was a really fun trip. Looking forward to seeing you and the kids around a campfire again. Glad you're doing well!
We most definitely will.
Cassidy! Welcome back! Great to have you again. I too fell for the JKU, love this truck a lot. I hope you guys will join us on a few outings this year. We are populating the calendar on the back end.
