I'm putting the finishing touches on my chuck box and getting it stocked for adventures. Just wanted to see other peoples setups. Also what are your "Must have item(s)" for your camp kitchen?
Mine is a good griddle as I really enjoy pancakes in the morning. My girlfriend would says the drip coffee maker. But we were gifted a Dutch oven, so we are excited to give that a try.
Currently we use a heavy duty box about 14x12X20ish for our camp kitchen stuff and set it up on a table.
Ok Tom. Now that you have used it a bit, how do you like it and what would you change if you could? Maybe post some new updated pics now that it's done. Is that your home shop? Nice set up. I have a nice home shop, but it's very small. 13X10 for main area. I can expand to the garage area when I need more working space. ( Vicki doesnt like it when she has to park outside! LOL)
I have been infatuated with camp kitchen/ chuck boxes for many years. I do like the way you have designed and built it. I carry our lantern seperatly though so as to free up more space in our tote we currently use. I would to build something that will fit in the back of the XJ. What are the apx dimensions of the outside folded? More pics!!!!
Ya, that's an impressive camp-kitchen. I don't have any sort of box like that. Just use a tote box for the white-gas stove and cooking utensils, and the food goes in another box, or in the ARB fridge. I do most of my cooking on the skillet. Like to have plenty of olive oil avail and a good plastic cutting board. Pretty much always have a bottle of wine avail too. :) Keeps the cook happy.
Now that deal looks like an amazing investment of time and forethought! Nice work! Are you going to stain it or??? Maybe with bacon grease?? :-)
I like my griddle too. But I can't stand lugging around cast iron so we use an aluminum one...
