Before calling them and getting stuck on elevator music hell, let me ask this question. My truck is equipped with the SiriusXM guardian service, basically like the GM Onstar service. Right now I get the service for free for the first year but I'm curious if the SOS feature(push the SOS button on the mirror and connects you with help) would be equivalent to the service and piece of mind of the Garmin Inreach or Spot? The monthly price is roughly the same. I guess I'm wondering if you'd trust that service vs the Inreach service?

I'd prefer the inReach as well. In addition to vehicle support, I carry it when diving in case a current sucks me out into the middle of the ocean someplace and the dive boat can't find me. I used to use it for checking in with my Dad when I was off the grid in the truck. It is nice that Sirius' service is integrated into the truck so you have one less thing to carry/charge though.
I'm with Jay. I'd rather have a standalone device. An InReach has much more functionality too. Like messaging the family to let them know you're not dead. Messaging for help in a non emergency situation. Mechanical issue e.g..
I think I'd prefer a stand alone device in case it's the truck that's on fire or that has become inaccessible for some reason. When I was using the Spot Connect device I made sure it was on my person if I was out alone.
