This morning registered for Cruise Moab, April 12-18. Cruise Moab is a sanctioned event by TLCA and hosted by Rising Sun 4WD club in Colorado. This will be our first trip to Moab, Arches & Canyonlands NP, so wife and I are stoked... been on our bucket list for a while.
Trail selection sign ups is in early March. I am looking for trail recommendations from the NWOL forum. I have the Moab Guide book 3rd Edition plus other trail ratings and reviewing YouTube. Looking for the more scenic trials (4, 5 & ~6- trail ratings)... need to drive home! Guided trails are 14th - 17th.
Give me your top 3 trails recommendations. If anyone is attending the Easter Jeep Safari in March, I would also like your restaurant recommendations and Moab must see's.
Looking forward in hearing your suggestions. Thank you in advance.

Great pictures, Tom! Thanks for the share!! Glad you had a successful trip!
Had a great trip to Moab; Arches NP, Schafer Switchbacks & Pot Ash road, Island in the Sky - Dead Horse State Park overlook. Cruise Moab sponsored day rides we attended were; Fins n Things, Hell's Revenge & Elephant Hill. Would highly recommend these rides... only hit on the sliders twice on Elephant Hill...S.O.B both directions.
Schafer Switchbacks Easy drive, spectacular views. Note the pickup and size relationship of canyon walls
Schafer Switchbacks - Drove from Canyon Lands down to Pot Ash
Driving to Chicken Corners - Hurrah Pass
Fins n Things on the slick rock - Moab's roller coaster
Hell's Revenge - A must do ride
Even with the occasional rain, the slick rock is like sandpaper, no issues with traction
Micky's Hot Tube 1 - 800 Land Cruiser 0
Kit gathered quite the crowd of his misfortune
Land Cruiser drove out under its own power - Drivers side outer mirror damage... and lost pride.
Elephant Hill - About a 110" opening - outer mirrors folded in
Elephant Hill - S.O.B. corner
Elephant Hill - Pictographs
Elephant Hill
Secured our trail selections for Cruise Moab this morning.
Thursday Fins n Things
Friday Hell's Revenge (Will likely do the bypass on Escalator)
Saturday Elephant Hill
We arrive 2 days earlier and planning on Arches NP / Willow Springs Road and Shafer/White Rim Trail. Would also like to fit in Chicken Corners.
Thank you all for your trail suggestions. What route is better (scenic) on Shafer Switchbacks? Top to bottom or bottom to top?
Driving back up Shafer a few days later. I can't believe I got passed by my dad! :-)
Another one...
Driving down Shafer Trail to White Rim...
Here are a few perspectives...
Gemini Bridges Trail...
It's pretty scenic.
Kevin,
Also, great suggestions! Though I have never ran the trifecta, I've seen enough videos to make me intrigued!
Dan
I was down there last May. Dan's comments are spot on. If you are feeling a little more "froggy" and aren't running solo you could do golden spike, gold bar rim and poison spyder. (the trifecta). If memory serves, there were bypasses for everything more difficult. Great views on top of the mesa!
Hi Tom! This sounds amazing. I have heard nothing but great things about Cruise Moab.
My top three trails are:
Gemini Bridges Trail. Rated easy (as in easy to get to and easy to run but a fun little escape out of Canyonlands).
Shafer/White Rim Trail. Duration is long, so its a time commitment, but the topography and views are out of this world.
Fins n Things. Rated difficult, but there are bypasses and it will stretch your legs a bit too!
