Another cool session:
Three Amigos is running a drop in clinic 9-11am Saturday. We are calling it the "Vehicle 360 and Gear Checkup" drop in.
Basically, bring your truck and recovery gear over to the wooded area during the drop in times, and they will give it a once over, letting you know if your recovery points are safe, that your gear is adequate for the loads that you are putting on it, that your straps are still in good shape, etc.
Most of us have a few pieces of dubious equipment in our kit, this is an opportunity to have an instructor let you know what bits you need to retire, as well as pointing out what key bits of gear you may want to add to your kit.
This is a 2 hour block on the schedule, but each person will likely only need 10 minutes with the team, although you may have a few folks in line ahead of you when you arrive, so plan your morning accordingly. If you don't want to pack up your rig and drive it over, just bring over any pieces of gear you are unsure about, or just hang out and learn from the team reviewing other people's recovery kits.
The Three Amigos are I4WDA trainers, not retailers, so they won't be trying to sell you any gear, just looking out for your safety on the trail.
Extra points if they have those hats
Oooh, I think we need to insist on that.
Very cool offering. My question is, do we get to see the salute?
As someone who has experienced some poorly timed gear failures this year. GO DO THIS. The Three Amigos know what they're talking about and will help get you squared away.
