Liberty State Overland Club Liberty Overland Trip By Clay & Odo Graham / CegPics.com
On Sunday, July 12th 2020, Liberty State Overland Club members met up at Smitty’s Conoco in Ellensburg. On this trip we had eight Jeeps. My YJ was the lowest rig, Charlie’s ZJ had the smallest tires, and the Jeep Gladiator was the longest rig. Around 12:30 PM we convoyed up Reecer Creek Road to Cle Elum Ranger District’s Liberty area.
We stopped and aired down near FS3507111 and then hit the trails. We worked our way up to Crystal Mountain with one stop to winch Kevin AKA TJ40 out of the trees.
At Crystal Mountain we stopped for a late lunch. After lunch we worked our way down 4w319 onto Pole Patch to FS3500. We turned up FS3500 and ran it up onto the Table Mountain Management Area and stopped at Lion Rock Road. At that point we said goodbye to Jeff and his family.
The rest of us drove to Lion Rock Lookout for the view and then headed back to Lion Rock Campground to camp the night.
The next morning we hit the 4W315 (Nealey Creek) and ran it down. There were a few steep sections and some off camber. Once at the bottom we ran FS3521 back to FS3500. We ran FS3500 up and ran down FS9712 to The Hole in the Rock for lunch. We air up there.
After lunch we headed to Cle Elum for the second part of the overland adventure.
Thank you to all who came.
