I need badly to get my new rear springs transfered onto my XJ before we head off to the rally. If anyone is in the Ellensburg area and is feeling ambitious, Give a shout and see if we can make this happen. Just moved into our new house so finally have a decent shop to set up in and do a few things. I also need to get some LED lights installed on the rear and sides just under the roof rack. I can do all myself, but an extra set of hands is never a bad idea and it's also fun to make new friends! Text me at 360-395-8759

I was gonna put it in the garage and drive up on sone wood blocks till it leveled out rear. Then make decesion to see what way to go. Maybe put urathane spacer on top of front spring. Your idea is not a bad one!
Front springs on an XJ are easy enough that you could swap the fronts to see if the other side then drops. That way you will know without spending money on parts.
Well,,,,, I spent 3 1/2 hours on drivers side on a job that should have taken an hour! My youngest son, who is a mechanic at toyota in Burlington, just happened to come by late afternoon monday before the rally and helped me do passenger side. All in all, an easy job became a frustratingly stubborn one due to rusted bolts etc. Got it all done in time to get loaded up for the rally! Now Im thinking I may have a week front right side coil thats causing the right rear to drop an inch or so. I was talking to a guy at a rally booth who does a lot with XJ's and that was his idea.
So, How'd it go?
Well, it's time tomarrow to do the install of the new rear XJ springs. My buddy Bo is here staying with us a while so he will assist me. If that goes as per hoil, the new side utility lights and the back up lights go on and if I have time before we head to rally, I will try and get some brackets made for sway bar discos. Will spend some time putting together some Hobo packets for meals at the rally too. A day to get camping gear cleaned up, sorted and get Jeep loaded so we can head out mid morning thursday!
LOL. Im kinda in the same boat as for time. We just moved into our new retirment cabin and have SOOOOOO much to do. I'll manage somehow. It's not that big of a job but an extra hand never hurts. Thnx for considering.
I'd be game for a road trip over there to help, but I am booked or broke till the 22nd. Not much help, huh?
